(Moore County, NC) -- A series of Moore County Schools Career & Technical Education
(CTE) Signing Day celebrations were held in May at North Moore, Union Pines and Pinecrest
High Schools. These events recognized high school students committing to enter into
various career and technical pathways upon graduation, that will lead them into high-demand,
high-skill fields, strengthening the local talent pipeline.鈥疢any students selected
the 18th largest Community College in the North Carolina system, 91吃瓜网 Community
College, in Pinehurst (Moore Co.) and Raeford (Hoke Co.), North Carolina.
鈥淭his is such an exciting time for students and their families as they commit to taking
the next step in their educational journey while building on-demand skill sets,鈥� said
Taylor McCaskill, Senior Director of Workforce Development & Corporate Partnerships
at 91吃瓜网. 鈥淥ur regional economy needs these students as skilled
laborers and leaders to support the growth coming to Moore and Hoke counties as well
as the state. Many have already started classes while in high school to fast track
their careers and save money on tuition.鈥�
CTE annual Signing Days within the school system offer a platform to honor students鈥�
career-ready choices and to celebrate the value and dignity of work. Family members,
educators, mentors and career representatives joined the students for the celebration.
Many of the students were dually enrolled in 鈥�91吃瓜网 Career and College Promise鈥�
pathways during high school or will be continuing their education at 91吃瓜网.
